It's a dangerous experiment, sanctioned by the FDA, and if you live in the United States of America, you've been a lab rat since 1996. In fact, even newborns have been part of the experiment. And most of us haven't been aware of any of it.
Ever wondered why the rates of obesity, heart disease, celiac disease, autism, allergies, asthma, etc, etc, have gone up in recent years? They all may very well link to genetically modified foods, which studies are now showing lead to inflammation (which create or exacerbate the above conditions). In the following film, numerous doctors, scientists, a nutritionist, a veterinarian, and various other top level professionals explain how and why this is so.
I knew a thing or two about GMOs before watching this documentary, but now I am more informed--and more outraged--than ever. If you haven't seen this 2012 film, it is very worth your time. Prepare to be disturbed and inspired to make some changes.

GMO's are greatly misunderstood. I think if you understand the science behind transgenic organisms it would be hard to believe that they are the direct cause for all those disease mentioned. In the blog, Katie PhD provides an unbiased tutorial on "What exactly is a genetically modified plant": http://www.katiephd.com/what-exactly-is-a-genetically-modified-plant/
You are right, GMO's have been in many foods on the grocery shelf since ~1992 (i.e. most of many of our lives); however they are regulated by the FDA, USDA and EPA before they are available to consumers. Have you thought about the benefits that GMO crops have? What about increased crop yields? or decreased use of pesticides?
I found the PBS (NOVA/Frontline) documentary very informative and presents both sides of the story well. You can watch it on YouTube here: http://youtu.be/6NsI0ba9dNg
I hope you are able to step back and examine both sides of the story before you make such bold and, really unfounded, claims.
I get my claims from the film itself, which interviews numerous scientists and doctors, who explain what GMOs are, that they actually don't have increased crop yields, don't cost less, and aren't higher quality. And the seeds themselves are so toxic from all the pesticides built into them that decreased pesticide use may be a mute point.
But thank you for presenting the other side of the story. I will check out that PBS documentary and see what I can learn. I hope you will do the same with this film.
How did you watch it? When I click on it I get a message saying "video is private". --Dee
Oh! I didn't know there was a problem. No one else has mentioned it to me, but 'll look into it. However, if you go to YouTube and look for "Genetic Roulette," you'll find it there as well.
*moot* point
Dee: Please see my updated note below the video. Thanks!
Thanks, Katrina. I am on the list to get it from the library and look forward to viewing it. --Dee
